Women's need to empower
Women empowerment is one of the key topic which we all need to keep our eyes on because earlier an India because of male dominated, patriarchal society system, practice of old traditional believes, etc. Women were only responsible to the traditional roles like child bearing and child rearing. In the modern world, where women status has been improved a little while, still they are facing problems. They have to perform both family and professional responsibilities together without the help of their husbands. In some cases, the condition of women becomes more embarrassed when they get tortured by their family members instead of getting help. Sexual harassment is more common at homes as well as in the offices by the family members, relatives, neighbors, friends, boss, etc. They have to suffer a lot in their daily life to nourish their career as well as saving their family relationships.
Women in India are not getting equal wages as men, women are considered as the weaker in many places this situation becomes worst when we move to rural side of India. They still follow stereotypes like women should only work in their houses cleaning, babysitting and other household work. They are not getting freedom which they should get as an individual. They are facing problems like Sexual harassment, Disparity in education, Child Marriages.
Women empowerment is always been a important topic for kosha foundation, we started off working in Uttrakhand because we found that women’s there are involved in a lot of farming activities and the males are the only who are earning in a family after looking to the situation closely we got to know that women over there are really enthusiastic to work and grow financially as well as mentally, so we decided to empower those women by providing employment to those women.
We started off by training them with some skills like stitching, knitting, flower making , candle making these things helped
Them by growing as an individual they came out there houses and saw how beautiful this outside world is.
Then we stared by making places/offices where we set up stitching machines, wool for knitting, and other raw material in these places these women can come and work along. We set up these places in Rishikesh, in kumao side of uttrakhand as well as in Garhwali areas by this we were able to empower a lot of women and we also strengthen a lot of families. Our goal now is to reach to as many families we can and definitely with support of everyone we will achieve our goal of empowering every women of India.
